Bats: A Seaver Bobblehead Sure, but One for Horwitz?

The 2013 season has been a busy one for Jay Horwitz, the Mets' public relations man: he joined Twitter this past winter, showcased some erratic dance moves for the club's Harlem Shake video, and, now, he will get his own bobblehead doll.

Horwitz's wobbly likeness will be handed out Aug. 23 to fans who purchase a special ticket through the team's Web site. Portions of the proceeds will go to Hope Shines for Shannon, a charity that benefits Shannon Forde, the club's director of media relations, who has Stage 4 breast cancer.

"Tom Seaver called and said to me, 'I'm in the Hall of Fame. What did you ever do to deserve a bobblehead?' " Horwitz said. "I told him, 'I don't know.' "

The Mets will give away a Seaver bobblehead on the 25th, two nights after Horwitz gets his.
