John Daly withdrew from the British Open because he will have surgery this week on his right elbow, ending his PGA Tour season. Daly said he first noticed something wrong with his elbow at the Byron Nelson Championship in May, and tests revealed a torn tendon. He aggravated the injury when he hit a tree root Friday at the Greenbrier Classic.
