The San Francisco 49ers signed the first-round pick Eric Reid to a four-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The 49ers drafted Reid, a safety, 18th over all in April. In 39 games over three seasons with Louisiana State, the 6-foot-1, 213-pound Reid had 199 tackles, 6 interceptions and 11 pass breakups.
