Sports Briefing | Basketball: Houston Rockets Waive Delfino and Brooks

The Houston Rockets waived Carlos Delfino and Aaron Brooks.

Delfino, a guard/forward, averaged 10.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 67 games last season. It was his first year with the Rockets after he spent three seasons in Milwaukee.

The Rockets signed Brooks, a point guard, after he was released by the Sacramento Kings, but he played in only seven games.

■ Grizzlies guard Jerryd Bayless has exercised his player option and will return to Memphis next season. He averaged 8.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists while playing 80 games and making four starts this season.
