JaKarr Sampson had 18 points to lead St. John's to a 71-65 victory over Connecticut at Madison Square Garden. ¶ Gary Harris scored 15 points to help No. 12 Michigan State bounce back from a poor first half and beat No. 18 Minnesota, 61-50. The Spartans (19-4, 8-2 Big Ten) moved into a second-place conference tie with Michigan.

¶ Jake Odum scored 22 points, leading host Indiana State past No. 16 Creighton, 76-57.

¶ Kadeem Batts scored 25 points, and host Providence beat No. 17 Cincinnati, 54-50.

¶ In an Atlantic 10 game, Cody Ellis scored 22 points off the bench to help St. Louis beat host Fordham, 90-73, for its fifth straight win.
