The freestyle skiers Bryon Wilson and Heather McPhie of the United States won a World Cup dual moguls event in Kreischberg, Austria. In the men's final, Wilson beat Alex Bilodeau of Canada for his first career World Cup win. Mikael Kingsbury, who was the defending World Cup moguls champion, placed third. Kingsbury and Bilodeau share the lead in the moguls standings after two events with 160 points each, followed by Wilson with 118.
McPhie leads the mogul standings with 200 points, 60 points ahead of Justine Dufour-Lapointe of Canada. The American Heidi Kloser is third with 116.
¶ J. R. Celski wrapped up the title at the United States short track speedskating championships with wins in the 500, 1,500 and 3,000 along with a fifth-place finish in the 1,000. Celski and Lana Gehring, who won the women's title with wins in every event the past two days, earned spots in the final two World Cups of the season.
