LOS ANGELES — Pinch-hitter Lyle Overbay singled in the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, helping the Yankees to a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.

Overbay, who drove in both of the Yankees' runs in a 3-2 loss Tuesday, singled on a 1-2 pitch from Paco Rodriguez (2-3). Robinson Cano scored after reaching on a fielder's choice groundout.

The Yankees added two more runs on an error by Dodgers second baseman Mark Ellis, whose two-out single drove in the winning run Tuesday.

Ichiro Suzuki and Overbay scored when Ellis dropped a fly ball by Jayson Nix in shallow right field.

Boone Logan (3-2) got the win in relief.

Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth to earn his 34th save in 36 chances this season.
